Dr. Benny M. Abante Jr., Pastor of the Metropolitan Bible Baptist Church, Sta. Ana, Manila, founded the HOUSE OF DORCAS (HOD) in 1989. His Vision of establishing a group of single ladies was inspired by the life of Dorcas- a woman full of good works and alms deeds of which she did (Acts 9:36).
Four years of faithfulness in the church is one of the basis of membership. Its goal, by the garce of God, is to live a life of godliness, faithfulness and loyalty to the man of God. Its objective is to support the Pastor in his effort to reach people for the Lord, to better assist him financially, morally and to become a good example of Christian maturity and faithfulness in light of the guidance of the Holy Spirit especially to the younger ladies of the church.
