MUSIC MINISTRY

Majestic music is one important part of worship. It prepares the hearts of the believers in adoring the almighty God, thus setting the reverential mood in a church service. We thank God for our pastor, Dr. Benny M. Abante Jr., an accomplished musician himself, who sees to it that music rendered in church during services are done solely for the honor and glory of God.

The MBBC Music Ministry is an umbrella ministry that includes the various singing groups and instrumentalists in our church. The men and women in these ministry groups are not part of the music ministry for their talent, but most importantly for their commitment to honoring God and serving him. Apart from the talents and the desire to praise God in music, the other important aspects that the Music Ministry emphasize among its team members is their commitment to soul winning, faithfulness in all church services, and their consistency in cheerful giving. Singers and musicians do not perform for the sake of showcasing their talent, but rather because they reflect in their music a life spent worthily for the glory of God.

The MBBC Main Choir is the aggregation of all the choir singers from the congregations of the MBBC. The render songs that fit a given focus for each month. They also lead in opening the worship proper with a theme song for the month. Their renditions prior to the delivery of God’s word help prepare the heart of both the preacher and the congregation to receive the message of God for that service.

The Music Ministry also has Special Number teams, mostly coming from the ensembles, trios, quartets, and youth singing groups from the congregations. There is also a joint grouping of these special number teams coming from the congregations:

The VOICES (Vibrance and Oneness in Inspiring Christians through Edifying Songs) is the singing group composed of all married men and women in our church from all the congregations. All young professional single men and ladies, on the other hand, comprise the MBBC Praise Singers. The FORWARD (Fine, Ordinary Workmen Always Ready to Deliver), is a sixtet that sings old-fashioned quartet music during services. And then we have the BYI Youth Ensemble, composed of select young people from the congregations, coming together to sing praises to the Lord.

Alongside the rendition of vocal music, our instrumentalists also perform also a meticuluous task of accompanying the singers for a given singers. The group, formally called FORTE (Fine ORchestration of Testimonies that Edify), are composed of high school and college boys and girls who have dedicated their talents in playing the violin, cello, flute, clarinet and the piano. As of the moment, the weekly services of the MBBC are accompanied by three pianists, seven violinists, eight flutists, and one cellist.
