USHERING AND MARSHALLING MINISTRY
The MBBC believes in discipline and orderliness, most especially during services. To worship the Lord in spirit and in truth not only means the preparedness of the heart of each member who attend the service, but also of how sacredness and solemnity is preserved in the church while the service is going on. To this, we have our ushers and marshals to depend on.
The ushers, usherettes, and marshals are the lead men and women responsible for welcoming the incoming members and guests during services. They help the members find a comfortable seat, as well as find an accommodating seatmate for a visitor, first-timer or regular sympathizer. Starting from the gate, all the way to the center aisle of the church, ushers and marshals are all available to ensure everybody finds his or her proper place just before the worship proper begins.
Alongside their ministry of welcoming everyone to church, the ushers also take responsibility in taking the offering, and handing out all necessary forms for the members. Always in proper dress code, our ushers and marshals serve as the “field men” for our senior pastor during worship services. They help ensure that appropriate behavior, dress code and decorum are being followed by the members during worship time.
The ushering and marshalling ministry is also a humbling ministry, in that in it serves men and women coming from all walks of life, such as doctors, judges, accountants, professionsals, businessmen, lawyers, engineers and many others. Their involvement reflects the thrust of of the church that “he who is the greatest among you, must be servant of all.”
